So, I am the leasing agent at the apt complex, the boss lady told myself and the asst. manager we were to have a contest.. she wanted us each to decorate an empty apt, make it warm and friendly and inviting. Our budget? $40.00.

I hit Goodwill, I got a teddy bear for the 2nd bedroom floor, I got 2 nice silk oversized square pillows for the master bed room, I bought a nice sheer window curtain for the "faux" shower curtain, I went to Tuesday Morning and bought some nice towels to match the faux shower curtain. I bought a nice summer framed print for the closet. I bought "quality".

the boss lady looked at the apt I had decorated and said I needed more filler.. that it wasn't bright and cheery enough.

the asst manager decorated her apt, she got a studio in contrast to my 2bedroom.. she bought a horrid bright striped plastic shower curtain, and gift bags full of bright tissue paper. She put them in the closet and on the living room floor. She snagged a roll of paper towels from the office and put a ribbon around them. Her apt was "cute".. looked like it was ready for a party.

In contrast my apt was ready for a family.

the wise boss said we had both won. but she went on to say I needed "filler" in my apt. I jokingly said, "I should have blown up a bunch of balloons. and called it a day." She thought that was a great idea. Guess who now has to take balloons to empty apts every day?

I have an addiction..

craigslist.. each day I go there.. looking for what? I have no clue.

last week I found a brand new couch, 1 armed sofa they called it, it's actually the extender part of a sectional couch that some woman with too much money bought and then discovered didn't fit in her house. For $25.00 it became mine. My daughter says it looks like a Psychiatrist couch. The girl has never laid on couch in therapy. She watches tv.

The week or so before that I found an overstuffed chair and ottoman for $20.00. It's green.

I have no more room for furniture.. yet I find myself drawn to the listings anyways.

weird.

this new addiction of mine.
